Can you fall in love for real (life)?

A jaded twenty-something has sworn off IRL romance in favor of swiping, until her older sister decides to form her own matchmaking business with a questionable playbook--and forces her sister to be her first client--in this vibrant, heartfelt contemporary debut romance.

Kai has recently graduated college and has no idea what she wants out of life--romantically or otherwise. So she decides to move back home to live with her meddling, very pregnant older sister whose long-term partner recently left her, and their mother, who is suffering from yet another heartbreak of her own. Seeing how love has burned her and the women she loves in the past, Kai vows not to let the same thing happen to her. Who needs the messiness of dating and romance when you can swipe through apps and find no-strings-attached, no-hearts-broken hookups in between binging true crime shows and delaying figuring out the next steps in your life?

That is until her sister is fired, and decides to finally pursue her dream of starting her own matchmaking business...and Kai will be her first client. Never mind Kai's downtrodden outlook on romance; everyone wants to find love, and clearly Kai's approach isn't working for her, so why not try the old-school way? Though she's reluctant, Kai wants to support her sister in her new endeavor, and it's not like she's got much else going on anyway.

But then Kai meets (or as much as she hates to admit, is rescued by) Ro, an artistic tow-truck driver who is in no way her sister's choice for her. Kai's determined to keep Ro in the friend zone, but finds herself drawn to his capacity to appreciate life despite all its unpredictability. Will Kai play it safe and protect her heart, or will she decide that real love is ultimately worth the risk?
