This book is not meant as a criticism of today's educational curriculum, which is designed to impart basic knowledge in reading, mathematics, and other similar subjects. This book is structured to provide material to guide a student towards success in life. It could have been titled "How to be Successful in Life". since it attempts to correct that vital area lacking in a child's formal education. Most parents will have probably already passed on some of the material but will find much of the other material worthwhile. The teaching method used consists of presenting for discussion extraordinary quotes--some inspiring--some containing information not commonly known. and others historically enlightening. Some of the quotes are taken from graduation commencement speeches while others demonstrate the courage of individuals in extraordinary circumstances.
