DENGUE FEVER is the story of an ugly disease swarming over a beautiful paradise. It is based on the actual outbreak of disease carried by a deadly monster, the mutated mosquito. The pandemic can only be stopped by a mad scientist and a burnt-out writer who carries the baggage of a recent drunk-driving arrest, a loveless marriage, and a string of experimental (and failed) cognitive therapies. But the real attraction of this film is the buzzing squad of mutant mosquitoes brought about by Man's hubris and wanton destruction of the Earth. As bad as the outbreak of Dengue, the response by modern science is worse. The treatment is offered as a film to be made in the Hollywood style of decidedly "B" movies, low-budget, drive-in fare, written for Ed Wood to direct.
