I've understood this since my childhood, without knowing any passages of proof, but the reality of that has not removed my inner struggle and the conflict between what I want for me and what was God's perfect will for me. Therefore, as I attempt to add to the conversation through this book it would be crazy for me not to improve, and allow both sides to speak. Though my personal testimony remains, my personal assessments, as well as the damage I have experienced within the church is fluid. I understand that my assessment can't totally be based on emotion, but on systematic accounting of the biblical evidence and scholarly research. This will not rise to the standard I felt was necessary when writing my past offering, but I think it is only fair to deal with the tension of the issues presented and not just my insights and personal experiences.
