Counties from which these papers came from: Pike County Missouri;Cooper County Missouri;Howard County Missouri;Chariton County Missouri;Lewis County Missouri;Boone County;Missouri;Marion County Missouri;Clay County Missouri;Callaway County Missouri;Jackson County Missouri;Cape Girardeau County Missouri;Cole County Missouri;Lafayette County Missouri;St. Clair County Missouri;Platte County Missouri;Andrew County Missouri;Greene County Missouri;Buchanan County Missouri;Benton County Missouri;Grundy County Missouri. Some are familiar - Daniel Boone, Alexander McNair - but most were average citizens. Side by side with those who died on the way west, in Indian skirmishes, in explosions or in natural disasters, are the records of the peaceful end of those who died at home, "worthy and respected".
