A haunting and painful path, Dark Stones I Carried gives the reader an insight into the darkness that abuse and self-denial can produce. In racing lines, sometimes cryptic and sometimes blunt, the author moves through rocky places and takes us along, bumping and winching. In the end, we awaken to the reality that light and struggle can take us from those paths and put us in happier and healthier places.

Daunting task aside, chronicling these sad and hurtful losses reveals that all of us, everyone, has some pain and struggle to overcome. We can face tomorrow together knowing there are others like us who have risen above.
