"I consider myself a multi-dimensional writer. I write poetry and short stories. Writing is a release; it is self-liberation. I feel free to write down any idea I want because I can. I feel like I'm able to express myself through every emotion and experience I've personally walked through or witnessed. I believe writing can save people because it saved me over and over again. I've gained courage since the my first book of poetry, Who Hurt You Sis? was released four years ago. Cowries and Spiked Tea is a continuation of my walk through this wide world. Poetry has shown me that I'm not alone and has taught me to push through and remain consistent even when you're afraid of the view of others! Walk through your truth and say what you have to say."
