If you give a child a coloring book about dogs, there are a plethora of ways to engage his or her attention. If an adult is actively involved in the activity with the child, the child can be asked questions that arouse that curiosity and stimulate their brain such as, "What kind of dog do you think that is?" or "What do you think that dog likes to do for fun?"
