This book is intended for the beginner in the Christian life as well as those seasoned in their faith. The gospel of St. John is recommended for those young in the faith because of its easy reading. The seven metaphors that Christ made about Himself are everything the child of God needs. He refers to Himself as the bread of life, the spiritual light of the world, the shepherd who is our leader and protector. He is the all-important door that keeps out evil and guarantees safety within the fold from all other false ways, and the vine, a universal symbol of nourishment and connection. The way, truth and life are triune spiritual blessings which can be expanded to all areas of life. Finally, He promises the reality of everlasting life which will come to pass if you remain faithful.
