Aprašymas

Following runaway sensation Be Gay Do Crime: Sixteen Stories of Queer Chaos, award-winning editors Llewellyn and Buckley return with Cassandra Complex, an anthology of world myths reimagined through a queer and feminist slant, featuring stories by Sophie Mackintosh, Melissa Lozada-Oliva, K-Ming Chang, Porochista Khakpour, and many others.

The Yoruba orisha of storms and transformation risks the wrath of her fellow divinities to stop the wedding of a child bride. A long-suffering mother brings her murdered daughter back to life by shaping her from clay. An OB/GYN nurse in São Paulo prepares for new restrictions on abortions, but as protests erupt across the country, she's haunted by a ghostly woman in white. In her father's grand estate, a half-demon girl is torn between love for her sister and the mother who seeps like slow poison in her veins. And on an island paradise, a flock of waitresses revel in their beauty and freedom--until the arrival of a wanderer who's much more than he seems.

In sixteen fierce and vivid tales, Cassandra Complex delivers twisted myths from Palestine to Tonga, Iran to Colombia, Wales to Zimbabwe, and more--wild stories grown lush in the soil of love, rage, and revenge.
