"Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. At a very early age my father passed down his love of baseball to me. What he could not pass down were the deep wounds the game would bring into my life. In August of 2014, my all African-American little league team from Chicago competed and won at every level of competition. My team won every game in sectional, district, state, and regional competitions qualifying us to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Competing in the Little League World Series is the dream of every young player. However, even with a good foundation both on and off the field, nothing could ever prepare a young player to have all their wins taken away including their World Series Championship Title. Through this book I hope to share this message: You are a champion and you have what it takes to win, no matter what curve balls life throws at you.
