She discovered poetry during her recovery from drug addiction in the summer of 2022. What began as a private way to process emotions, make sense of her past, and navigate her evolving reality soon became a way of life-a lifeline that helped her fall back in love with living.

Her debut poetry collection, Burnt Toast, follows this journey from hurting to becoming. It is raw, honest, and deeply human.

When Kit began sharing her poetry online, she was overwhelmed by the response-strangers who saw pieces of themselves in her words. She believes that vulnerability and honesty are powerful forces for connection and healing.
