This book begins by posing and answering the question: What is Buddhism? Assuming no previous knowledge, issues such as the legacy of India and the life of the Buddha are discussed. The book ends with a look at the state of Buddhism in the world today and discusses its current popularity. The appeal is due to its undogmatic and open-minded approach which encourages understanding and questioning, and makes Buddhism a prime source for discovering the self within a non-violent tradition.
