Portland Homicide Detective Kara Bandini is a hunter. She grew up tracking and killing Cougar with her Uncle Jim in the barren wastes of the Jackson County backcountry. When assigned a Jane Doe found on the Ross Island beach in the middle of the City of Roses, Kara is driven to use all her instincts to run the killers to ground. Kara's investigation searches the Willamette River and reveals a trail of gruesome murders going back decades.
