Aprašymas
Zimbabwean urban councils operate in a complex environment characterised by financial constraints, rapid urbanisation, infrastructure deterioration, climate-related pressures, changing citizen expectations, governance challenges and institutional capacity limitations. These challenges undermine the ability of councils to consistently provide essential services such as water, waste management, road maintenance and public health. So, strengthening the resilience of urban councils requires more than financial, technological and infrastructural investment. It also requires attention to the manner in which staff members behave and respond to challenges. Such human behaviours are critical for the successful implementation of sustainable strategic management frameworks necessary for the achievement of long-term organisational goals. They subsequently influence institutional resilience. In the context of urban councils, these factors may include strategic planning, leadership styles, stakeholder engagement, employee commitment and organisational culture. This book therefore, developed a sustainable strategic management framework for strengthening the resilience of Zimbabwean urban councils.
