In the book created for the occasion, Jean-André Charial narrates the history of this legendary estate in Les Baux-de-Provence, long favored by dignitaries, ministers, financiers, and even a visiting queen. Beginning with Raymond Thuillier’s founding of L’Oustau and continuing through Jean-André Charial’s travels, rigorous Michelin-star training, and ultimate takeover of the estate, two intertwined narratives emerge.

Laurent Dupont’s magnificent photographs weave the intimate and unbreakable bonds between Baumanière and Provence, nature and cuisine, family anecdotes and the grand history of the place.
