Balmoral (el. knyga) (skaityta knyga) | Tom Quinn | knygos.lt

Aprašymas

For 175 years, Balmoral has been the royal family's private refuge: a place where monarchs, heirs and hangers-on have escaped public scrutiny and revealed their true selves.

In Balmoral: The Royals on Holiday, renowned royal historian and journalist Tom Quinn presents the first complete history of the castle, estate and the generations of royals who have called it their home from home.

Drawing on decades of exclusive interviews with former and current staff including gillies, maids, gamekeepers, gardeners and equerries, Quinn takes readers behind the scenes of one of Britain's most iconic royal residences. From the alleged affairs of Queen Victoria to Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, from Andrew's increasingly young girlfriends to rows between William and Harry, Balmoral has been the backdrop to some of the monarchy's most personal moments.

Rich in anecdote and historical detail, Balmoral: The Royals on Holiday is an intimate portrait of the royal family at their most themselves.
