Anji, a young woman living with her family in a small, remote town in northwest Alaska, is overwhelmed with remorse after witnessing a terrifying incident in Anchorage that she chose to keep undisclosed. She asks herself, "If I had let out a blood curdling scream and sprinted toward the girl, could I have changed her fate or would I have unintentionally altered my own?"

Anji believes in the science and truth of all things, rather than in the widely accepted spiritual philosophies of her family and friends. A major turning point, unraveling her previously held convictions occurred when she caught a glimpse of the face of a young woman who appeared in a mysterious aurora borealis display. Confusion overwhelms her as she attempts to discover the meaning of the startling vision and solve a puzzling mystery.

Understanding there could be a connection to the woman, Anji is determined to help the authorities purge the state of the heinous criminals who have been trafficking and murdering young Alaskan women. She enlists the help of group of courageous people, including Private Detective Dakota Hunt's heroic task force team to assist in taking down a significant organized trafficking syndicate which has plagued Alaska for decades.
