When Steve Barton investigates a plane crash near a remote California community, he has no idea that he will come upon traces of one of his biggest regrets: Alice Chang.

Alice Chang was the woman who got away. Or, more accurately, disappeared. Steve still often wonders what happened to his intriguing coworker. When he sees signs that Alice may have been inside a strange building an airplane plowed into, he launches an investigation that will lead to an underworld of electronic hackers, evil men, and murderers. The adventure races throughout San Diego County with Steve trying to stay a step ahead of the criminals while trying to decode the mystery Alice left behind.

While Steve is tracking her down, Alice is just trying to survive. At the mysterious Fernbrook compound, she was drugged to the edge of insanity and commanded to hack into digital satellite television systems.

For nearly a year, Alice struggled to keep her courage and determination in the face of depression and fear. The plane crash gave her a rare chance to escape, but her captors are in hot pursuit.

Follow Alice and Steve as they reunite in a perilous journey that takes them halfway across the world. For lovers of suspense and romance, there are plenty of satisfying fireworks along the way!
