"Abyss and other poems", an anthology of 24 English poems and 1 Hindi poem, is a book of musings. The author, Shakti, regards poetry as a medium to let go of everything that aches within the human self to erupt. Thus, the reader will find the poems filled with turmoils that any sentient being brought up in a similar set-up i.e. a middle class Indian household, goes through! This book has some poems written in third person, some in first and some completely abstract. Thus, to hold each of these sections together, the poems are interspersed with some beautiful illustrations which deserve a book of their own. This is Shakti's debut publication. He hopes, the reader finds the poems meditative!
