Dear Journal, I won first place in the surfing contest this morning! Besides winning a gold medal and trophy, I also received a $100 Visa gift card! I am truly excited and proud! On a different note, I have decided to tell Adam how I feel about him. Maybe it's because of my win or my upcoming eighteenth birthday, but I have been given the confidence to do what I have been afraid to do all summer. Whatever it is, I am thankful for it.
