The mansion of a former FBI agent is left to decay in Alabama's hot and humid climate. Tornados, neglect, and death can leave even the most prized properties crumbling beyond repair. There are many reasons as to why these properties are forgotten and quickly given back to nature.
In Abandoned Deep South: Lower Alabama, explorer Eric Hammon discovers and uncovers LA (as some locals call Lower Alabama). The southern portion of the state is full of schools, funeral parlors, and plantation homes in disrepair. Overgrowth and debris sometimes keep these places out of sight and out of mind. The author seeks out these hidden gems and documents his finds.
