At first evaluation, most Bible students (or even experts) might agree that the Book of Job seems to stand apart in the Judeo - Christen Canon of Scripture. And I am persuaded the reason for this may be due to the ease for not recognizing prophecy, because of distractions Job's friends stir up by their abundance of criticisms! Early on it is obvious Job's so called friends considered him to be wicked because of the terrible things happening to him and his family. But we know it was because Satan wants to separate Job from God that he may destroy Job. And even though the LORD God allowed Satan certain latitudes against Job; the death of Job was not an option Satan could use! And so, through the sufferings of Job we see him holding to integrity, commitments, and dedication to God! In his speaking and declarations we also see prophetic revelations pointing to our redeemer (the Lord Jesus), and his promised works even unto resurrections for eternity. Such revelations can only come by the leading of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit of God also took the occasion of Job to reveal elements of prehistory (Job 40:15 through 40:24 & 41:1 through 41:34) that existed in times past not mentioned by Moses when he outlined events of creation in the Book of Genesis. Should we dare suppose God said nothing about prehistory through Moses because it was already addressed in Job, which preceded the Pentateuch?
