Aprašymas
Dr. Bill Hodges had been a missionary in Haiti for the past twenty years priory to penning this collection of essays. He was, in his own words, "participating, hopefully, in a movement which stretches all the way back to the time of the Apostles. 'Go ye therefore and teach all nations...' has been a clear command to Jesus' followers, but its execution has been anything but simple. The stage of history is already cluttered with churches, denominations, theologies, heresies, arguments, schools, edifices, printing presses, and mission societies which testify to the complexity of the task. A missionary, as well as those who support him, must nevertheless find a bright vision of this eternal gospel, not only in meaningful relationship to his own society, but also in the context of all human groupings. A gospel which is valid in Los Angeles but not true in Haiti is, of course, no gospel at all. The following papers, which were developed and first presented in a series of newsletters, will attempt to form a philosophy of Christian mission for this last part of the twentieth century. It is my prayer that this presentation will do for the reader what it has done for the writer - convince him that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only worthy and realistic movement which may be offered to modern man.
