A hopeless romantic with even bigger dreams, all Afrah wants is to be a school teacher and dodge her mother's ardent attempts at getting her married. On the way home from a job interview that will--hopefully--pay for her education, Afrah's life is interrupted when she saves a young man during the monsoon floods in Mumbai.

Sadiq, a medical student, has his life carefully planned out. He wants to be a surgeon and move out, saving himself and his mother from his narcissistic father. But meeting Afrah derails those plans. As they meet again and again while commuting on the Mumbai local trains, Sadiq finds that there's more to life that he wants than just running away.

From troublesome, meddling family to tragedy and struggling with the aftermath, Sadiq must face the consequences of his past choices, and Afrah must decide if the secret he kept from her is worth losing him forever.
