This book has been created to bring the written heritage of British Lithuanians to readers in the United Kingdom. It is a collection of the life stories and selected works of nine very different British-Lithuanian writers, poets and translators.
Bringing written UK Lithuanians heritage to English readers. Make an interview and collect life stories of UK Lithuanians writers, poets, and translators, sharing their life stories and their written heritage, publishing a book about it.
Cultural heritage implies a shared bond, our belonging to a community. The protection of the cultural property is an old problem. Cultural heritage passed down to us from our parents must be preserved for the benefit of all. Writing and reading are primarily solitary pursuits. We invite everyone who values arts and culture to explore the written word. And we support the vibrancy and diversity of the Lithuanians writers in UK artistic culture. We believe that writing empowers a greater understanding of self and others and thereby encourages compassion and empathy in our society.
