The way of the heart is to submit our judgments to unmotivated love as best we know it. Not the way of inter-personal love which is changeable and fickle, but to the supremely open and accepting love that radiates from within the spiritual heart to the surrounding environment. This is not a pallid modern-day anti-existential philosophy which finds love buried under every rock and hidden within every tree. It is the recognition of the primal and enduring state of true being, the enlightenment of the heart and the resultant opening of the inner way. Love is the way back to that primal state of original being, the return to truth while still moving forward with the affairs of life. Enlightenment does not encourage us to abandon the things of this world, only to re-frame our vision and see them for what they are.
