When his ex-girlfriend, Janelle Stokes, shows up at Chestnut Ranch with another dog that needs rescuing, they start seeing each other again. She was worried about how her two girls would do with Russ in their lives, so she broke up with him, her lawyerly mind taking the reins from her heart.
