The Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital Excellence Awards have been held annually for seven years. This year we received 19 case histories for our consideration. After an initial evaluation of the abstracts and full review of the case histories which made it to the second round, we are pleased to present the eight finalists in this anthology.

Each of these case histories demonstrate innovative and creative examples of knowledge management or intellectual capital implementation, covering a range of applications including KM in a micro-enterprise in the Amazon, Preventing corruption with KM in local government, the future of learning and user-needs innovation-driven Learning, A knowledge based resilience analysis model for the oil and gas industry, Knowledge Centered Service implementation, Knowledge data engineering for forest management

information systems and delivering a value-led KM Ecosystem. The case histories this year illustrate a diverse group of ideas from Brazil, Italy, Hungary, Pakistan and Malaysia.
