Aprašymas
This volume of 5 Detectives collects lesser-known sleuths from the early 1900s, when detective stories were popular in monthly magazines. Magician from the Orient Chanler Rao uses his skills to uncover criminals. Worry-Worry Williams is less concerned with detective work than solving life's little puzzles, but still manages to bag some crooks. Miss Fanny Gordon finds herself stranded in France, but uses her keen mind to solve mysteries for the French Secret Service. Clara Pryor, fresh from college, decides to become a detective, and she has the perfect Watson. Not all detectives look like detectives, but the "Gum-Shoe" did. . . . This collection of stories provides breadth to the picture of the early magazine detectives and shouldn't be missed by Golden-Age Mystery enthusiasts.
