In this work Lockwood creates an alternate history of the United States that puts William Jennings Bryan in power, and in which Bryan immediately took America off the gold standard. Mob actions and political chas follows. Prescient for those unhappy with the 2016 election; the issues are entirely different, but the turmoil seems similar.
