A manual for clinicians describing a pen and paper exercise for clinicians working with complex post traumatic stress. The exercise produces a mandala of traumatic stresses and the defensive strategies developed that produced dysfunctional adult behaviors. The purpose is to help trauma survivors make sense of their adult behaviors by tracing them back to childhood stress; and to further expand such understanding by seeing, graphically, the past and present as occurring all in the present.
