The collection of essays in this book, spanning countries across global South and North, provides an account of strikes and working class resistance in the 21st century. Through original case studies, the book looks at the various shades of workers' resistances, analysing different forms of resistances by the working people to new social and economic conditions, such as restructuring of work and new areas of investment. Each chapter will help students of global labour movements and political economy navigate and address the following key questions: -Which sectors and groups of workers are the main social bases of workers resistance today, and why so? -What forms of organization do workers create and what kind of strikes are successful and/or able to mobilize? -How do forms of repression respond to strikes and mobilizations and which new forms of repression can be witnessed?
