Trophic Organization in Coastal Systems is a comprehensive study of what is known about one of the most important processes in marine science: the response of trophic organization to the eutrophication process and how nutrient loading via human activities affects marine systems. Based upon 70 field-years of data in 10 coastal systems, it gives a detailed account of the long-term response of a series of coastal food webs to variables such as nutrient loading. Integrating original data with results from the scientific literature and presenting more than 100 tables and figures, the book advances understanding of how coastal food webs work.
