The Nation Looks at its Resources records the key points of the Mid-Century Conference on Resources for the Future held in Washington in 1953. Originally published in 1954, this report reveals the concern felt by those attending the conference about the mounting pressure on our resources from the growing population and expanding Economy. Rather than taking a specific view point, the discussions cover a wide range of resource issues from multiple angles with an unintended emphasis on the need for research, education and cooperation to better understand the resource issues facing the U.S and the rest of the world after World War II.
