The year is 1987. The place, a small town in the mountains of Kentucky. 10-year-old Billy Griffith finds he has a power beyond his dreams, the ability to move objects with his mere thoughts. But there is a darkness moving toward the town where Billy lives, and within that darkness is a stranger who seeks Billy's power for his own. With the ability to raise the walking dead, and gathering a menagerie of killers to him, the stranger intends to spread as much chaos as possible while grabbing the boy. But Billy finds he is not standing alone, but has help from friends including farmer Lewis Hadley and the simple Jordy Smith, two men who have heard mysterious voices telling them to protect Billy. From where do the voices come? And can the gray stranger be stopped before hundreds, possibly thousands, are murdered and Billy is caught up in the clutches of evil?
