This is a classic science fiction short story by Stanley G. Weinbaum that was originally published in Astounding Stories in 1936. It tells the story of Carver, a zoologist, and his mission to an island near New Zealand. However, the natives aren't too keen on his presence and rumours of walking and talking trees begin to circulate.
