PRIVATE SHOWINGS begins with a lovely young woman realtor absently performing her Kegel exercises while she waits for a train to pass. The reader soon discovers that our heroine, Kyrie Wilde, is cheating on her sleazy attorney husband and meeting her lover, a professor--and perhaps an example--of abnormal psychology, for sexual encounters in Victorian homes she pretends to be showing him. Hence the title. Meanwhile, across town, a character calling himself St. Christopher is arranging car accidents to defraud insurance companies, using college students as his "crash dummies" for a piece of the action. He tells them "it's like Space Mountain only at the end they pay you money." If all that isn't complicated enough, a serial killer is stalking and offing lady realtors all over town.
