He discussed not only gradual physical evolution, over countless millennia, but the evolution of our minds and our emotions too.
Too far ahead of his time, Lamarck's ideas were ridiculed or forgotten.
Now we understand - or think we do! Time to take another look - we still have a lot to learn.
