Aprašymas
This ethnography describes and explains how Mennonite Disaster Service, following a well-established tradition of helping their neighbors, organized volunteer efforts for the 2005 and 2008 Gulf Coast storms. In contrast to the corrosiveness observed after hurricane Katrina, this book reveals the deeply beneficial therapeutic communities created in the wake of natural catastrophes once faith-based volunteers arrive to restore living and working environments in the aftermath of natural disasters.
