"Jenny" is a 1911 novel written by Sigrid Undset. Set in Rome and Norway, it revolves around the protagonist Jenny Winge who sets out to become a professional painter. However, her plans are scuppered when she falls pregnant by her fianc�s father. When the baby dies, she descends into a deep depression that ends in tragedy. Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) was a Norwegian novelist most famous for her trilogy "Kristin Lavransdatter". She won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1928.
