Jeremy Hart, an LA District Attorney, is a young widower whose grief counselor sends him to a charity party to jump-start his social life. At the party, he meets Claire Carleton, a woman who is trapped in a loveless marriage with an abusive, wealthy husband. A courtship develops between them, but her husband, Peter, discovers the affair, and after Claire is victimized by a beating, she confides to Jeremy that she believes that Peter is planning her demise.

Shortly thereafter, her husband is found shot to death in the driveway of his Bel Air home. Detectives Ulysses Gibson and Jennifer Donahue from RHD are called upon to solve the case, and when the evidence points to Jeremy Hart as the killer, he is quickly arrested and charged with the murder.

What follows is a monumental struggle to keep the scales of justice in balance as Detectives Gibson and Donahue search for the truth behind the killing, but what they encounter along the way are secrets and deceptions that will eventually reveal to them the true Hidden Agenda.
