Aprašymas

The handbook for smart, concerned and active citizens who want to rebuild America in a sustainable, sensible way: Green Town USA .

Guided by Daniel Wallach, Greensburg, Kansas is America's first sustainable community. Devastated by an EF-Scale level five tornado--the most destructive kind--in May 2007, Greensburg lost ninety-five percent of its infrastructure. Tragedy did not stop the people of Greensburg, however, and they rebuilt their town to reflect its name: Greensburg became America's first Green Town.

Now Wallach with his particular expertise and vision presents an active plan to rebuild America. The transformation of Greensburg, Kansas is sustainable in every way, from housing and construction, to community and open spaces, to energy and infrastructure. Green Town USA provides a road map for the remodeling of America's small towns and communities. Sustainability translates into jobs, savings, earth-awareness, and a better quality of life for residents.
