In 1529, Martin leaves his life in Spain to join an adventure to the New World. He soon discovers things were not to be as they were promised, as abominable hardship is the daily fare. When the New World is finally reached, the Spaniards find a strange and exotic, but welcoming culture that is seen as vulnerable for pillage and conquest.
