Aprašymas
A sublime and original collection of poetry from a talented and exciting new voice. In this, her début collection of poems, writer Donna Sørensen explores a wide range of ideas that are thematically connected by a common thread: the idea of home – what it first appears to be, what it really is and why it matters.
Challenging traditional notions of one’s home and place, Sørensen, who has lived outside her native land for over a decade, finds that ‘home’ can be a matter of what we carry with us rather than where we take it, can be a feeling rather than a belief, and can exist in connections with people and ideas rather than objects and places.
Having travelled extensively, Sørensen has dipped in and out of different cultures and lived in a diverse range of locations. Dream Country is, in many ways, a reaction to this. Being uprooted and on the road has led her to reflect upon, in her distinctive and engaging voice, the nature of our longing to call somewhere home.
