In our first meeting Slydini told me: “The coins are the gateway to my magic.” This is true in large part because of the psychological aspects of his integrated system of misdirection.When Slydini was still teaching a common objection to his approach was that the student had to surrender his personality and ‘become Slydini in order to be able to do his magic’. This is not true because Slydini’s Misdirection is based on what all people have in common. That being said I know there are some Magicians who would like to learn this classic of Magic but are not interested in other routines that demand attention to timing patterns and specific systems of movement.
