The book is largely centred around the forgotton airfield of RAF Gravesend in Kent and is a tribute to the fifteen pilots from 501 and 66(F) Squadrons who were killed flying from there during The Battle of Britain, but it also looks at the lead-up to WW2, the expansion of the RAF, the development of Radar, modern fighter aircraft. The book takes a look at life in Britain at that time too.

The rich narrative is laced with first-hand accounts from people who, with differing perspectives, lived through those momentous times. This is a book that will transport the reader back in time.
