Though this work is close to a century old it contains poultry breeding information that is just as pertinent today as it was way back then. It features near-antique articles from newspapers and magazines, old advertising, plans, diagrams, art and illustrations. The range of topics included cover everything from breeding for egg-layers, origins of the breed, molting, judging Rhode Island Reds, to chick feeding, and colony and backyard housing, to name but a few. This is a truly charming, yet practical and valuable book on the various varieties of the Rhode Island Red breed.
