Aprašymas
Apost(le)ate is a theopoetic work reflective upon the experiences of those who were raised by and carved out of christofascism. A simultaneously critical and creative work, Apost(le)ate is an exploration of what happens when children are brought up in religious ideologies that foster master-slave dialectics. It traces the haphazard expressions of revolt and apostacizing those who are brought up in these kinds environments can embody, while also giving an insight into the sorts of "god" that are found in these kinds of environments - and in the world at large.
Apost(le)ate is the prayer of an apostle and the sermon of an apostate. It is an expression of rage against borders, the hell on earth our human species has created, and fundamentalist imperatives to reify good and evil as they are commonly understood in some aspects of Protestant faith communities. It draws on the Marxist critique of capital, liberation theologies, queer studies, feminisms, the black radical tradition, and theopoetics as a meditation by which one can better understand those narratives that have shaped political, sexual, ideological, economic, emotional, spiritual, and physical imaginations.
This is Teagan Steele-Fisher's debut creative work.
